BSA Troop 36
Founded in 1982, Troop 36 has a long-standing tradition of providing youth with meaningful Scouting experiences that promote character development, leadership, and outdoor adventure. The troop offers a diverse range of activities, including camping, hiking, and high-adventure excursions that challenge Scouts to develop resilience and self-reliance. Through mentorship, teamwork, and hands-on learning, Troop 36 fosters an environment where young people grow into confident, capable leaders prepared for the future.
In addition to outdoor pursuits, Troop 36 is committed to giving back to the community through service projects that instill a sense of civic responsibility. Scouts also have the opportunity to earn merit badges in various fields, from first aid and environmental science to citizenship and personal finance, broadening their knowledge and skills. By participating in these activities, Scouts gain valuable lifelong skills while making a positive impact on their communities.
Chartered Organization
The Chartered Organization plays a vital role in supporting and overseeing a Scout troop, serving as the official sponsor responsible for ensuring the success and sustainability of the unit. For Troop 36, this important role is fulfilled by Calvary Chapel in Lake Stevens, Washington. As the Chartered Organization, Calvary Chapel provides essential resources such as meeting space, leadership guidance, and financial support. It appoints a Chartered Organization Representative (COR) who acts as a liaison between the troop and the church, ensuring that Scouting activities align with the organization’s values and mission. This partnership helps create a stable foundation for the troop, allowing it to grow and thrive while fostering a positive environment for youth development.
Beyond logistical and administrative support, Calvary Chapel plays an important role in shaping the troop’s culture and guiding its leadership. The church approves adult leaders, ensuring they uphold Scouting’s principles and provide a safe, enriching experience for the Scouts. It also encourages community engagement, helping Scouts participate in service projects and outreach programs that reflect the church’s values and commitment to service. By maintaining this close relationship with the troop, Calvary Chapel helps reinforce the values of Scouting, ensuring that young people have meaningful opportunities to develop leadership skills, build character, and serve their communities.
